Quilt to Coat workshop
This one-day, six-hour workshop gives students:
- layout brainstorming and inspiration by others’ designs/layouts
- information on working with various ages of quilts, as well as quilted and unquilted fabrics.
- guidance on creating pieces specifically for a quilt coat
- understanding of the historical significance of quilted garments
- learning garment sewing lexicon and reasoning
- the opportunity to ask questions and get immediate feedback
- additional education on a variety of topics including seam finishes
- instruction on adding zipper or buttons
- hands-on demonstrations of techniques and tips for their specific project
- personal lessons based on their individual fabric and style choices, and more.

Class requirements:
- 10-16 students
- 6-ft table for each student
- Scheduled 30 minute break for lunch
