Join me and Hawke in the beautiful rolling hills of Missouri this June at Art Nest Retreat, just 45 minutes north of Kansas City! We’ll spend four days and three nights together – making, chatting and learning from each other.
Hawke and I have wanted to host a retreat since our days on the road when we got the chance to gather with folks all over the country. Now we want to bring you all to one place–centrally located in the Midwest, an area near and dear to our hearts!
- All food and lodging is provided, with brunch, dinner, beverages and snacks everyday.
- We’ll kick off the retreat with Kansas City barbecue and whiskey, showing off our local favorites.
- Gluten-free and vegetarian options will be provided.
- Please bring along any snacks and drinks that you love.
- You are welcome to sew, craft, or rest for the two full days.
- Join us for learning opportunities about color, value, quilting and how they all work together.
- You’ll have your own L-shape workstation, as well as community design boards, ironing stations and cutting tables.
- The local quilt shop, Sew Enchanting Equine, is only 20 minutes away and we’ll visit KC Maker Studio to wrap up the event on Sunday.
- Several machines are available to rent on a first come, first serve basis.
- Shuttles are available from the KC airport; other arrangements can be made.
I had the opportunity to teach at the Art Nest Retreat last August and absolutely loved it. I hope you’ll join me to spend the time, getting away from the hustle and bustle of life to focus on making with other makers.

We opened registration to our Dream Team community first and with only 24 spots available, beds are filling up quicker than I’d expected – yay! I hope you’ll grab one of the remaining seats/beds.
