I can’t count how many times over the last six months that someone has told me they really miss watching Sew Together Tuesday. Hawke and I started that show in 2020, at the beginning of the pandemic, and continued until earlier this year. After a little break, Hawke and I are looking forward to bringing back many of the things we’ve done–including a live sewing show.
Starting in January, we’ll host MAKE with Teresa Coates on our YouTube channel, an hour-long sewing show broadcast live from our sewing studio (or maybe even an LQS!). Each month will focus on a different topic where we can discuss the how, why and what of various sewing skills. I’ll share what I know and what I’ve learned in my own deep-dive of the topic, give advice on where to start and how to find more inspiration, patterns and education. These skill-builder sessions will be live, allowing you to ask questions, get answers and learn alongside me.
Our first episode of MAKE with Teresa Coates, debuting on January 8 (9amPST), will be all about sewing with Cuddle®. I asked the folks in my Facebook group what they wanted to see first and, not surprisingly, it was “more Cuddle® please!” If you are still intimidated by minky fabrics, I hope you’ll join us to learn a bit more about how to use this soft, plush fabric.
If I learned anything over the eight years as National Educator for Shannon Fabrics, is that Cuddle® can be used for more than you ever knew was possible!
I’ll also be launching a new pattern for the show, specifically using Cuddle®. The Love Language Pillow will be available free to Dream Team Members on January 1, but will be available in the shop on January 8. There will also be some kits available for the Love Language Pillow and a couple other Cuddle® projects.
I’m excited to explore all sorts of sewing and quilting techniques with you, share my favorite tips, and expand my group of sewing friends once again. Each month will be a different topics and I hope you’ll let me know what you want to learn, too.
